Is Agriculture asked in the Prelims exam?
There is no section named "Agriculture" in Prelims. Instead, the Professional Knowledge section (25 questions, 50 marks) tests agriculture-related concepts relevant to the Agriculture Field Officer role.
Is Professional Knowledge included in Prelims?
Yes. This is new for the 2026 cycle โ Professional Knowledge is now part of the Preliminary Exam itself, carrying 25 questions for 50 marks in 20 minutes.
Is the Descriptive English paper compulsory?
Yes, the Descriptive English paper (2 questions, 25 marks, 30 minutes) is a compulsory part of the Main Examination for all candidates.
Is there sectional timing in the IBPS AFO exam?
Yes. Both Prelims and Mains have sectional timing โ each section must be completed within its own allotted time, and time cannot be shifted between sections.
Is there sectional cutoff in Prelims?
Yes, candidates must clear the minimum cut-off marks in each of the four Preliminary sections individually, in addition to the overall cutoff.
Can final year students apply for AFO 2026?
Candidates must have their final results/degree on or before the cutoff date mentioned in the official notification. Usually, this date falls in August/September of the recruitment year.
